Sonder Agustin had just recently graduated from civil engineering but this fresh graduate from Ilocos Norte is unable to take the board exams after those were canceled by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) due to the COVID-19 crisis.
While waiting, he decided to make some furniture for his room. This is when he realized that it would be a great idea to renovate his room and have something worthwhile to do while the crisis limits him from pursuing his passion outside his home.
The results were quite fantastic, with many netizens admitting that they were impressed by the ‘before’ and ‘after’ photos.
From Simple to Impressive Room
Starting off with a bare room that didn’t even have ceilings or paint on the wall, Agustin was able to transform the place into something awesome after 30 days.
The bed is enclosed in wood that actually upgrades its look. The windows were also converted into a more stylish sliding glass window. The ceiling is white and simple, but that means focus is given to the walls, instead.
Artsy Walls
The wall at the head of the bed was decked with slabs of wood of different shades and sizes.
One wall becomes the focal point, with its massive mural featuring a replica of “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa”, a popular Japanese painting. It was Agustin who painted the masterpiece.
The wall towards the foot of the bed shows a mural of what appears to be several mountain ridges in varying shades of grey.
Quirky Furniture Pieces
Books appear to float off the walls of Agustin’s room, thanks to the special shelves he created.
The triangular nightstand appears to defy gravity while there’s a small table with a shelf, too.
Apparently, all these furniture pieces were created at the woodworking shop that Agustin’s parents created for him.
